Sermon by Adam Cetrangolo; Ecc 9.2 - 16
Ecclesiastes is a reconnaissance: the reflections of a man who knows God but explores what it is like to seek meaning and purpose of life from other things. As such it is a book that contains practical wisdom for our time. Like many today, he attempts to determine the meaning of life by progressively chasing the things that make for success in the world, i.e. knowledge, power, wealth, etc., only to find each time that the search does not yield the desired result. This book seems dark and pessimistic in parts and yet builds to a satisfying conclusion about where true wisdom and purpose are ultimately found.
