Righteousness ‘Right Relationships through Jesus’

Sermon by Adam Cetrangolo given on 29th September 2019
The book of Romans has been described as God’s legal document and the believers title deed.  It is one of the most succinct outlines of the intentional relationship between every believer and the God of Heaven and Earth; the details of how that relationship has come about and the affirmation of our changed status as citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven.
One of the motivations for Paul's letter was the Gospel coming under attack both by Jews and Antinomians. The Jews insisting that salvation comes from the observance of the Law and the Antinomians believing that if we are saved by grace we therefore have license to do whatever we want. These two extreme views were driving a wedge in the young Church and only the power of the Gospel - clearly defined - would enable the effective spread of this life-changing message.
This study of the book of Romans therefore invites us to also depth our understanding of the Gospel as well as allow our hearts to be convicted by the Holy Spirit.
